The Designated Senior Person responsible for Child Protection and Safeguarding Lead is Mrs Joanne Poyser, Head teacher, and, in her absence, Mrs Elizabeth Blenkinsop (senior teacher) or Mrs Sarah Waller (class teacher).

Wirksworth Federation of Infant Schools is committed to safeguarding. We have a duty to:

    • Take action if we suspect any of our children may be at risk
    • Provide a safe and secure environment for children and adults
    • Follow county guidelines for Safer recruitment
    • Check all staff and adults in a supervisory role with children have appropriate checks such as DBS

The Federation's responsibilities relating to safeguarding are extensive and very important. Staff attend regular safeguarding training sessions as does the designated safeguarding Governor. Safeguarding requirements are regularly changed and constantly updated.
