Keeping Children Safe in Education
Safeguarding and Child Protection:
Our schools follow the Local Authority Child Protection and Safeguarding procedures, outlined in our Child Protection and Safeguarding Policy available on our School Policies page. The Designated Senior Person responsible for Child Protection is Mrs Sarah Waller, and in her absence, Mrs Jo Poyser, Head teacher.
Wirksworth Federation of Infant Schools is committed to safeguarding. We have a duty to:
- Take action if we suspect any of our children may be at risk
- Provide a safe and secure environment for children and adults
- Follow county guidelines for Safer recruitment
- Check all staff and adults in a supervisory role with children have appropriate checks such as DBS
The Federation's responsibilities relating to safeguarding are extensive and very important. Staff attend regular safeguarding training sessions as does the designated safeguarding Governor. Safeguarding requirements are regularly changed and constantly updated.
